Wild Flowers

Wild-Flowers.jpg

As my name suggests, I was once wild.

Free on a journey of evolution, running parallel to yours.

As you stare at me, attempting to understand me, know that I wasn’t always this beautiful.

The truth is, I was many beautiful things, both natural minerals and organic materials.

For as long as I can remember, we lived happily side by side. But change came fast. Suddenly you deemed my unique parts of more value in a vision of your creation.

My transformation was admired and marvelled.

I shone like a bright new star.

I was strong enough to assist in your everyday joy,

I felt welcomed.

But little did I know that this feeling would be fleeting, as you quickly tired of me in this form.

Before I realised it, I was deemed old, outdated, undesirable. The lights faded as I was shadowed by a newer distraction, enjoying their time in the spotlight. Unaware that they too will follow my path of wasted resources, destined to an ungrateful ending, forgotten by those they served.

My last service in the form is to play a role, strangely familiar, yet all together foreign.

I am pretending to be something I am not, something you are happy to accept.

I am a wildflower. I am the new normal. Standing in a fading reality, watching new normal dawn.

Do you like the way your future looks?
