Our Life
The life I embrace is not for all.
It’s a simple life, like you may desire, talk about, search for. Yet, it’s a life of hard work and sacrifice.
The tools of my trade live and breathe just as I do. We eat, drink and grow under the same sun, grounded to the same earth, forging an existence together, for better or worse.
I am lucky because I would be a lesser man without these beautiful partners in my life. You see, they have taught me things my schooling neglected. To share, respect, be grateful for the shifting sand, the hot sun, and the simple connection that makes this life rewarding beyond my dreams.
I am free from the scourge of first-world problems, intrusive technology, and the overwhelming feeling that I am not enough. My knowing is learned from a shared reality that has bound us together for life.
You may see me as a simple man, feel sorry for me, a man that lacks the dressings of life that make you fearful.
But this is far from my truth.
I am a privileged man who shares the quiet space that only true friends know. I watch the sunset fade behind the distant horizon with little on my mind, at peace with my path. I live without regret, without the necessary proof of success.
The life I embrace is not for all, but it is perfect for me.
